compassion...true love in action

Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.
Mother Teresa
Peace begins with a smile.
Mother Teresa
Our life of poverty is as necessary as the work itself. Only in heaven will we see how much we owe to the poor for helping us to love God better because of them.
Mother Teresa

One of the greatest diseases is to be nobody to anybody.
Mother Teresa

Many people mistake our work for our vocation. Our vocation is the love of Jesus.
Mother Teresa

Love begins by taking care of the closest ones - the ones at home.
Mother Teresa

Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do... but how much love we put in that action.
Mother Teresa

Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty.
Mother Teresa
Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work.
Mother Teresa
Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.
Mother Teresa

Let us more and more insist on raising funds of love, of kindness, of understanding, of peace. Money will come if we seek first the Kingdom of God - the rest will be given.
Mother Teresa

Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.
Mother Teresa
Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls.
Mother Teresa

Intense love does not measure, it just gives.
Mother Teresa
If you want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.
Mother Teresa
If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
Mother Teresa

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
Mother Teresa

I want you to be concerned about your next door neighbor. Do you know your next door neighbor?
Mother Teresa

I try to give to the poor people for love what the rich could get for money. No, I wouldn't touch a leper for a thousand pounds; yet I willingly cure him for the love of God.
Mother Teresa

Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.
Mother Teresa
Even the rich are hungry for love, for being cared for, for being wanted, for having someone to call their own.
Mother Teresa

Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.

13 Things Your Child's Teacher Won't Tell You

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

1. If we teach small children, don’t tell us that our jobs are “so cute” and that you wish you could glue and color all day long.

2. I’m not a marriage counselor. At parent-teacher conferences, let’s stick to Dakota’s progress, not how your husband won’t help you around the house.

3. We’re sick of standardized testing and having to “teach to the test.”

4. Kids used to go out and play after school and resolve problems on their own. Now, with computers and TV, they lack the skills to communicate. They don’t know how to get past hurt feelings without telling the teacher and having her fix it.

5. When I hear a loud belch, I remember that a student’s manners are a reflection of his parents’.

6. Your child may be the center of your universe, but I have to share mine with 25 others.

7. Please help us by turning off the texting feature on your child’s phone during school hours.

8. Guys who dribble a ball for a couple of hours a game can make up to $20 million a year. We educate future leaders and make about $51,000 a year.

9. We take on the role of mother, father, psychologist, friend, and adviser every day. Plus, we’re watching for learning disabilities, issues at home, peer pressure, drug abuse, and bullying.

10. Kids dish on your secrets all the time—money, religion, politics, even Dad’s vasectomy.

11. Please, no more mugs, frames, or stuffed animals. A gift card to Starbucks or Staples would be more than enough. A thank-you note: even better.

12. We love snow days and three-day weekends as much as your kid does.

13. The students we remember are happy, respectful, and good-hearted, not necessarily the ones with the highest grades.

to quote a friend...

We live in a society that wants to brand and market everything.
Trying to market Christianity according to the world's way of getting the message out is always disastrous. The nuts and bolts message of Jesus cuts through perfectly to those who are seeking Him.
When someone feels that longing for lasting relationship with the Lord, it is not a call that comes from his or her tangible senses - it is deeper, where the soul is seeking what the world can never give: holiness. It is for this the Church doesn't need rock bands or showy liturgy; we need only faithful pastors and a constant climate that calls the soul to the Lord in and in His Holy Word. The Holy Spirit will do the rest.

and so it begins...

OH SUCH a BLUE day.
First I lost my watch,
then my t.v. screen is going bad,
and then I went to pay a bill online and the security code on my credit card has rubbed off!!!

It gets so overwhelming when EVERYTHING seems to happen at once.
If any of these incidents happened individually, then it would not seem nearly as overwhelming.

UGH!
I have misplaced or lost a dear friend today- my beloved watch... that has been a good and faithful friend for many years. I can't figure out for the life of me, where I have misplaced it or how I could have lost it.
soooooooooooooo sad.....
